My prog-metal-jam band circa 2000 featuring Alex Randall on drums, Scott Gruber on Bass, Mark Bober aka 'Trent' on vocals and myself on guitar. This band went through a couple of phases as we eventually ended up focusing on instrumentals. This was definitely one of the most incredible bands that I have ever been part of. The chemistry that we had was phenominal as we could completely read each others mind and improvise things that would have been impossible for most bands to pull off with years of practice. The problem was that we enjoyed jamming too much and we found it hard to focus on finishing and polishing anything - never leaving my basement. The best thing about all of these is that every guitar solo that I played was 100% improvised on the spot and everything was record live in my basement back when I lived in Damascus.
| Title | Description | | Broken Dishes | Vocally has a bit of a Megadeth feel at times which is pretty surprising if you know 'Trent' aka Mark B. Its got a nice little improved solo that I'm quite proud of. | | Sullen | Another vocal song featuring Trent. Rather moody, I like the dynamics. | | Mother | Our only really light and poppy song. | | Bridges Part 1 | Part I of the bridges trilogy. (Instrumental) | | Bridges Part 2 | Part II of the bridges trilogy. Could use some polish, but not bad for a rough demo. | | Bridges Part 3 | Part II of the bridges trilogy, I think we might have ripped off Alice in Chains for the chord progression here, but I'm sure they never played it like this. (Instrumental) | | Sound Checking Georgia | Moody, dynamic, blusey improvised jam. I believe this was recorded back in my old house at Bethesda, it got a little better natural reverb back there than the Damascus house. (Instrumental) | | Sonic Warfare | This is probably my favorite track that we did. It was one of our later ones and it kills me that we never got a great and polished recording of this. Think Rush on crack. We definitely didn't 'nail' it. But its pretty cool and you can get the idea pretty good. (instrumental) | | Sonic Warfare | Another take of Sonic warfare. Recording quality isn't quite as good and its just Me and Alex on this one. So no bass. In fact this is usually the kind of thing that we would send to Scott when he'ld miss a practice. Hey, learn this for next week. :) | | Sonic Warfare MIDI | Here is a midi song that became Sonic Warfare. | | Gravity | Accoustic thingy. |
